Oak Island Resort & Conference Centre - Four Season Stay, Work, Dine & Play


We are proud to bring you newly renovated guest rooms with local artwork, stylish furniture and the same nautical flair you’ve come to love.  But the world has changed, so the Oak Island Resort you know and love has adjusted our sails.  What does this mean for you? 


Updates as of December 17th, 2021: 

  • Food establishments and liquor-licensed establishments must have physical distance between tables and a limit of 20 people per table.
  • People must be seated to remove their mask for eating or drinking; all other mask requirements for indoor public places remain, including wearing them when seated for other activities
  • Masks are required in areas of workplaces where physical distance cannot be achieved, as well as common areas, areas where people are serving the public and areas with poor ventilation
  • Gathering limits of 50 per cent of capacity to a maximum of 150 people indoors and 250 outdoors apply to social gatherings, weddings, special events, meetings, and training.

Starting October 4th, 2021, the province of Nova Scotia made it mandatory that you will need proof of full vaccination to participate in discretionary, recreational and non-essential activities. Proof of vaccination isn’t required for children 11 and younger (they can attend activities with a fully vaccinated adult). People will be considered fully vaccinated 14-days after their second dose of a COVID-19 vaccine authorized by the World Health Organization or the 1-dose Janssen/Johnson & Johnson vaccine. This means you need to have received a second dose by September 20th.

It also remains mandatory that masks are to be worn in indoor public spaces.

Exceptions to this policy:

  • In your guest room
  • While eating or drinking in our restaurant or lounge
  • When seated at our restaurant deck
  • While swimming in our pools
  • During a workout in our fitness center when the activity cannot be done with a mask on.
  • Children 4 and under are exempt from being required to wear a mask.


  • Upon check in: Please be prepared to show proof of vaccination of all members of your party prior to checking in (with the exception of children 11 and under). This ensures you can participate in a discretionary recreation and non-essential activities through-out the resort.
  • Check-in (after 3pm) & Check-out (11am): we’ve put up protective glass, provided hand sanitizer & you’ll notice that we’ve intensified our normal cleaning procedures. Please respect social distancing and please do not gather in Lobby.
  • Hand Sanitizing stations are available throughout the hotel – please use them regularly.
  • Guests are encouraged to use the washrooms in their rooms. There will be a limit of one person in public washrooms at a time.
  • Please limit elevator use to one person at a time to ensure social distancing.
  • HOUSEKEEPING STAY-OVER SERVICE has been changed to “On-Request only”, for 3 or more night’s stay. If you wish for us to service your room during your stay please notify the Front Desk. We will ask you that your leave the room for the duration of the cleaning. So we can practice safe social distancing. Requested additional items can be requested also at the Front Desk Items will be Left outside your guest room door.

Oak and Oar Eatery:

  • Due to a shortage of staff, we are not currently offering full breakfast or lunch options. You are able to pre-order (the night before) from our selection of boxed breakfast. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
  • Dinner is served from 5pm-9pm.
  • You cannot charge to your guest room at this time.

Three Sheets Bar + Social:

  • Serving from 3pm-11pm Daily
  • Food service from 4pm-9pm
  • Nightly Live Entertainment with top Nova Scotia talent- 8pm nightly until October 10th. Then Entertainment will only be on Friday and Saturday Nights starting October 11th.
  • You cannot charge to your guest room at this time.


  • Our Indoor Pool is open 9am-9pm daily for hotel guests and marina members only. Pool towels are located in the pool area, please refrain from taking room towels to pool areas. Sauna and hot tub remain closed at this time.
  • Fitness center is open 9am-9pm daily. Keep a safe distance from other people-2 meters or 6 feet.
  • Our Marina is open from 9 am to 5pm daily and will be closing on October 15th. It offers recreation equipment for rent as well as vessel berthing and a fuel dock. Recreation equipment includes mountain bikes, fat tire bikes, kayaks and stand up paddleboards, as well as pedal boats. Equipment is available on a first come, first serve basis. All inquiries can be made at the Marina. On the water rentals are subject to weather limitations, and must stay within the marina breakwater. We are also host to Salty Dog Sea Tours, an on the water tour of the famous Oak Island. Extension 340.

Our resort team will be following COVID-19 protocols, focusing on sanitation, hygiene and social distancing to ensure you and our employees have a safe and healthy experience.
