So much to SEA
We call it the east coast effect. Whether local or “from away”, every visitor to our shores will understand. We’re pretty partial to our home on the south shore, and if you immerse yourself in the unique beauty, history and culture here, you too will experience the kind of laid-back coastal way of life that stays in your bones forever.
Just a quick drive away, you’ll discover the colourful, charming seaside communities of Chester, Mahone Bay and Lunenburg – a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Each has its own distinct character and fascinating history to share, and the architecture feels like paintings come to life. Be sure to tour the Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic in Lunenberg and, if you’re lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of the iconic Bluenose II if she’s in.
Nearby Ross Farm, a living museum that takes a leap back in time, is a piece of working history not-to-be missed. And a trip out east can never be complete without an outing to the rugged granite shores and powerful tides of legendary Peggy’s Cove, a breathtaking place that has enthralled artists and adventurers from around the world for generations.
Or head off the trail and book a walking tour of the famed Oak Island. Recently made popular by the History Channel’s television mini-series, The Curse of Oak Island, this mysterious treasure hunt has spanned over 200 years. Ask any of our locals what they think of the mystery and you may even get a brand new theory to consider!
Nearby golf courses include the Chester Golf Club and Osprey Ridge Golf Club, and natural gems like Kejimkujik National Park and The Ovens Natural Park make a fun, family adventure.
Let our Nova Scotia home surprise you. We’ll be waiting for you to get back, so you can tell us all about it!
